Human-centered computing is a new subdiscipline of computer science that prepares students for studying our socio-technical world. Georgia Tech, Clemson University, and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County all offer graduate degrees in Human-Centered Computing (HCC).

Der Masterstudiengang Human-Centered Computing wurde vom Akkreditierungsrat unter Einbeziehung der Akkreditierungsagentur ASIIN bis zum 30.09.2028 akkreditiert. Human-centered computing (HCC) focuses on developing tools that improve the relationship between people and technology so that people can concentrate on the problem rather than the technology. The ultimate goal of HCC is to make the computer invisible.

Human centered computing

Our research in human-centered computing strives to create ethical and accessible computing systems that positively impact society. Our researchers include top-ranked experts in health tech, privacy, human-computer interaction (HCI), social computing, and mixed reality. All are committed to designing, building, and evaluating systems that promote equity and improve quality of life for marginalized populations. Human-Centered Computing.

This book constitutes revised selected papers from the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the Third International Human Centered Computing Conference, HCC 2017, that consolidated and further develops the successful ICPCA/SWS conferences on Pervasive Computing and the Networked World, and which was held in Kazan, Russia, in August 2017. Human-centered computing has a long history at CU Boulder, beginning with professors like Peter Polson, Tom Landauer, Gerhard Fischer, Clayton Lewis, Skip Ellis and Walter Kintsch. Today’s faculty and students continue this legacy, and can be found in academic homes across the university.
